A New Year with New Adventures

Happy New Year! 2015...wow! When I was 12 I thought 2015 would have hovering cars and futuristic housing. Instead, this is what I have around me...and I'm perfectly happy with this:)

As the year came to a close and a new one begins, I find myself digging deep. Maybe it's the solitude of life in these woods or maybe it's just time to face things I don't want to face. Dreaming of my future and seeing little curly heads running amok, I can't help to want to be a better person, friend, partner, daughter, sister, human. So today I welcome forgiveness, gratitude, love, acceptance and most importantly change. To help me to get started, I've decided to attend a Vipassana at the end of the month. For those of you unfamiliar with this practice, it's a meditation retreat where you remain silent for 10 days. For me, I would like to clear my mind of pain and anger and move to a place of compassion and forgiveness. Gaining a new sense of self in these trying 10 days will indeed be no easy feat, but very necessary for me to move forward in happiness. Looking forward to this journey:)

In the meantime, building the business has taken top priority over my life. I have a feeling it may be that way for awhile. While my clock ticks away, this shall be my "baby." Of course Paige is our baby too...Yup, we got a puppy! She's 7 months old now and growing! She's made a great addition to our family:) Mel even approves!!!

Even with the puppy distracting me at times, I still have managed to get a lot done this winter. I'm happy to announce the following;

1) I will be returning to Kruger Escapes for making picnic baskets and doing on board sunset sails. This is going to be so much fun! Karl and Jessica are such great clients and I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes:)

2) On Friday, January 9th, Dave Page of The Lodge on Orcas Island and myself will be hosting our first Supper Club. It is going to be a low cost dinner that will try to have a few nights a week. Mainly for locals looking for a low cost option to eating out. We are hoping that the need for our private club will expand so we can offer to the general public. if you would like details on future/regular dinners, please e-mail me for more information.

I am also toying with the idea of doing the farmers market. I don't have that many weddings booked and I think I could supply a demand...brunch, picnic baskets or desserts. Hmmmm...take the poll to the right to help me decide;)

Look for step-by-step recipes, pictures and more posts on my blog throughout the year...I'm determined to make this blog something special! Happy New Year to you and yours, may this year spread peace and happiness to all!

Namaste,

Nichole
